We support three charities who are THE STROKE ASSOCIATION, INTERACT STROKE and the BILLIE ELIZABETH WOOD TRUST.
The Style for Stroke Foundation will give grants to stroke survivors and their families to help with rehabilitation and offer respite for families caring for stroke survivors. The Foundation is impartial and is committed to bringing together individuals, charities and organisations to fight stroke together. Every year the Foundation will invite charities and individuals concerned with stroke to apply for grants from the money raised. Operating in this way allows the Foundation to help charities both large and small – many of the small organisations rely on donations such as these to keep them going. We intend to continue to do this. Any charity concerned with stroke is entitled to apply for a grant. The Foundation evaluates each application against a set of criteria. These criteria are weighted dependent upon agreed giving principles determined for each year. For example, we may prefer in one year to weigh grants towards smaller or new organisations and then in another year we may prefer to give to new applicants or special projects. For the initial grant period - and with finances getting tighter and requests for assistance growing - we will be focusing on organisations with limited financial resources to deliver their services.
The six core criteria for grant making to be as follows:
Any registered stroke charity no matter how small can apply for a grant. Criteria are set out in the Foundation’s selection process. There are many stroke charities each as deserving as the next. They all have one main mission: to fight against stroke, however different the method of achieving it.
How does one distinguish the worthiness of one charity from another? How do we ensure that they all fairly get the opportunity to apply for support? How can we assure that every stroke charity, no matter how big or small, get the opportunity for funds and awareness?
The Foundation is cognizant of being both equitable and impartial. It is committed to bringing together individuals, charities and organisations to jointly work with each other.
Our goal is to support any specific initiative that can offer one or more of the following:
